About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground lamb

  • 0.25 cup finely chopped onion

  • 0.25 cup finely chopped fresh coriander

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more to taste)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • lettuce, tomato, red onion, and tzatziki sauce (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. In a large bowl, combine lamb, onion, coriander, garlic, ginger, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.

  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a patty.

  4. Brush the patties with olive oil and grill for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.

  5. Serve on hamburger buns with your choice of toppings.


    Note: You can adjust the level of heat in the burgers by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
